Invisible Scars™

Not all wounds are visible...

The Invisible Scars™ framework was developed through years of clinical work, personal reflection, and witnessing a recurring pattern among high-functioning individuals who appeared successful, capable, and emotionally “fine” on the outside while privately carrying unresolved emotional pain beneath the surface. Through working with individuals, couples, and families, I began recognizing that many emotional struggles were deeply connected to invisible wounds formed through unmet emotional needs, emotional neglect, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, trauma, grief, and environments where love, acceptance, or affirmation felt conditional rather than freely given.

As these patterns emerged across stories and experiences, a deeper understanding developed: many individuals were carrying what the Invisible Scars™ framework identifies as worthiness wounds — emotional injuries that shape a person’s relationship with self-worth, emotional safety, connection, and identity. These wounds often lead individuals to unconsciously strive, perform, over-function, people-please, or seek validation in attempts to feel valued, chosen, loved, or enough.

This  framework integrates emotional literacy, attachment-based healing, nervous system awareness, reflective processing, and restorative practices to help individuals identify the emotional imprints they carry, understand the protective patterns developed for survival, and begin restoring their relationship with themselves through intentional healing and self-awareness. Healing does not erase the past, but it can transform the relationship you have with what you carry.

WHERE ARE YOU STILL BLEEDING?

Some wounds do not announce themselves loudly. They show up through over-functioning, emotional distance, difficulty resting, fear of rejection, people-pleasing, or patterns that keep repeating.

What feels easily activated, tender, or difficult to move through in your life right now may not be weakness, it may be something within asking for care. Healing begins when you stop judging the pain and start listening to what it needs.

Remember, you are not lacking ... you were carrying what needed care.

Invisible Scars

I was struggling with grief and trying to hold it all together, but I was failing. Everyone thought I was doing okay, but in reality, I was avoiding my emotions because I didn't know what I was feeling. I had never been taught how to identify or understand my emotions.

When I met with Dr. Edison, I cried for nearly an hour because I felt completely overwhelmed. During the session, she introduced a sound bowl, and I felt tears begin to fall. The sound seemed to reach places my words couldn't because I didn't yet have the language for what I was carrying.

She reminded me that it was okay not to be okay and created a space where I felt safe, supported, and free from judgment.

That session gave me the opportunity to release grief I had been carrying for far too long and begin naming the emotions beneath the surface. Since then, I've been coping better and have developed a deeper understanding of my emotional experiences. For the first time, I feel like I have the language to understand what I'm feeling instead of simply carrying it.

Group Emotional Reset Experience

I have attended two wellness retreats so far, and both have been amazing experiences. The women who attended were welcoming, supportive, and kind. Relaxation has always been difficult for me because I'm used to managing so much and constantly thinking about what needs to be done next.

During the sound healing experience, it took a little time for my mind to slow down. Once it did, I noticed my breathing become deeper and more relaxed. Before I knew it, the session was over. The feeling was different from a massage, it wasn't just physical relaxation. My mind felt calm, my body felt at ease, and I left feeling peaceful and restored.

Individual Emotional Reset Experience

I've been working with Dr. Edison for about a year. While going through some challenges at work, she suggested trying a sound healing session. I had never experienced sound healing before, but I'm so glad I did.

The office  atmosphere was calming, the eye mask was amazing, and the sound from the  bowls helped me relax and connect with my emotions. By the end of the session, I felt peaceful, relaxed, and ready for a great night's sleep. I'll definitely be booking these sessions monthly!

Individual Emotional Reset Experience

My wellness session was exactly what I didn’t realize I needed. As someone who balances a demanding career, family responsibilities, and a busy schedule, I rarely take time to truly slow down. The experience allowed me to disconnect from the daily pressures and reconnect with myself in a meaningful way.

The calming atmosphere, sound-based relaxation, and aromatherapy created a sense of peace that stayed with me long after the session ended. I left feeling lighter, more centered, mentally clear, and genuinely refreshed. It was more than relaxation. It was an intentional act of self-care that reminded me how important it is to pause and recharge.

I highly recommend this wellness experience to anyone who is constantly pouring into others and needs a space to simply receive, rest, and restore.
